Welcome to The Shining Walls! We believe in being upfront, so here’s the deal:
Some of the links you’ll find on this site are affiliate links. If you click on one of these links and purchase, RCG Websites LTD may earn a small commission. It helps keep the lights on and allows us to keep creating content you love.
How It Works
You’ll be taken to another website to complete your purchase when you click an affiliate link. For example, if you click an Amazon link, you’ll buy directly from Amazon, but we’ll earn a small percentage of that sale.
The price you pay stays the same whether you use our link or go directly to the website. There’s no added cost for you.
The Rules
In 2015, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) released its new rules for Disclosure Compliance. These rules ensure that readers or viewers of web media (blogs, YouTube videos, etc.) know if the blogger/presenter is sponsored, endorsed, or partnered with a different company. In blog terms, the readers need to know if the blogger is making money by sharing a link or product. In compliance with the FTC guidelines, please assume the following about links and posts on this site:
Any/all of the links on theshiningwalls.net are affiliate links from which RCG Websites LTD receives a small compensation for sales of certain items.
We use two main types of affiliate programs:
Amazon Affiliate Links
We are participants in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon properties, including, but not limited to, amazon.com. Amazon offers a small commission on products sold through their affiliate links.
If we link to an Amazon product, and you place an item in your “shopping cart” through that link within 24 hours of clicking the link, we get a small percentage of the sale. Amazon links are not “pay per click”. If you click on the product link, stay around Amazon, and purchase something else, we will get a commission on that sale. Anytime you see a link that looks like astore.com/… or amazon.com/…, it can be assumed that it is an Amazon affiliate link.
CERTAIN CONTENT THAT APPEARS ON THIS SITE COMES FROM AMAZON. THIS CONTENT IS PROVIDED ‘AS IS’ AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE OR REMOVAL AT ANY TIME.
Product Affiliate Links
These affiliate links work the same way: if you click the link and buy the product, we get a percentage of the sale or some other compensation. Again, prices are not different if you use these affiliate links. You will not pay more by clicking through the link. These links are not “pay per click” unless otherwise denoted.
Affiliate Agreements
Companies with which we have an affiliate arrangement are as follows (the hyperlinks will take you to their respective privacy policies):
- AbeBooks.com, AbeBooks.co.uk, AbeBooks.de, AbeBooks.fr, AbeBooks.it, IberLibro, ZVAB (all AbeBooks arrangements are via Impact).
- Amazon (UK, US, Canada, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, and Australia).
- Barnes & Noble (via CJ).
- Biblio (via ShareASale).
- Blackwell’s.
- Bookshop.org (US and UK).
Advertisements
We also use advertising on the site (Google AdSense). These ads aren’t affiliate links, but we still earn a little something when you interact with them. It’s another way we can keep the site running.
Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to theshiningwalls.net or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to theshiningwalls.net and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings.
Sponsored Content
We don’t do sponsored posts. If that ever changes, we’ll let you know upfront.
Thanks for supporting us by using our affiliate links. This allows us to continue providing great content without charging you a dime.
